Creed in Bakersfield????

Word is out that Creed now hangs his hat in Bakersfield. The new job assignment has shifted Creed from the coast to the valley. Just wanted to let those in Bakersfield know!

Fresno Fruit Trail

Fresno Fruit Trail
A succulent golden peach, dripping juice as you bite into its downy flesh. Sun-warmed, plump blueberries, ready to be plucked from the bush. Bright oranges, peeping out from behind broad green leaves, each one a perfect globe of luscious citrus. If you've got a sweet tooth for fructus, then the Fresno Fruit Trail is for you. Located smack in the center of California, America's fruit basket, East Fresno County is an agricultural wonderland. The trail offers a self-guided tour to dozens of farms and markets, all offering the freshest possible fruit and fruit creations. Tour the farms. Pet the farm animals. Pick your own blackberries – or buy a quart ready to eat. Take home fruit products from homemade jam to Sun-Maid raisins, baked goods to scented soaps. If you're looking for a bird's eye view of the lovely patchwork of crops, you can even hire a hot-air balloon for a ride.California's spectacular weather makes for a long growing season, and the Fresno Fruit Trail is a gorgeous destination from spring, when the trees are painted with blossoms, through the harvests of summer and fall. Visit once, and you may be tempted to return in a month for another trip, with a whole new selection of produce perfectly ripened and ready to taste. Go ahead, eat a peach.

Gorgeous weekend in Palm Desert!

This is crazy!

This is what I try and do with my horse Nicki but I don't think Lily would listen this well :)

By the way- the post view has been changed since we are heading into April which is the official "Going Green" month celebrating Earth day on April 22.

Live long and recycle!

weekend plans

Just got super excited because I got VIP passes to an Outdoor Rec and Sports show in Fresno this weekend. There is supposed to be a great kayak company there- who knows, maybe we will be kayaking this year at the camping trip!

Anyone else doing anything fun?

Spring Blooms

Here are some pic's from the drive up to Creed's house this Easter weekend. Whomever said driving and snapping pictures was difficult has obviously never ridden with me (don't worry Mom just kidding!)
It is pretty though because it almost looks like snow but it is little white flowers!

Happy Birthday Haley

We got to celebrate with the new 14 year old Haley!

Easter Weekend Hike

Saturday Tom and I decided we would take a little hike at the Lafayette Reservoir. It was a beautiful day. Wildflowers are starting to bloom with the temperature in the 70's. We decided to try the Rim Trail. 6 miles and 5 major hill climbs later we finished. What a beautiful hike this time of year. From the hill tops we could see Moraga, Orinda and Lafayette - actually I think we set foot in each city as the trail circles the reservoir. The hills are all soft and green looking...hard to believe you haven't left the city.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! No fun pictures from Lemoore- had a great time cleaning house and riding really hot ponies. Poor Nicki is still shedding her winter coat so our 78 degrees got her super sweaty on a realatively easy ride day.

Missed you all but glad to not be in a car driving!

Happy Birthday Grammy Schneider

Birthday wishes to Grammy Schneider in Palm Springs celebrating her birthday - not that she can read this because she doesn't have a computer.

Spring!!

Okay - it looks like it is going to be a nice weekend. Lets see what everybody is up to with pictures and posts this weekend. Especially those not spending Easter with their families (Jessica, Jennifer, Jamison, Jamie and Thomas!!!) There should be pictures from Tahoe, Arizona, wildflowers in the foothills and pony rides!

How well do you know Geography

I found this really cool website that tests your knowledge on world capitals. Haley you should be able to ace this with your outstanding grasp of world geography!! I know spending that time with you helped me out. Jamie you will also like this one too - you actually have to find the answer on a map.
I will try to get a life :)

Sharks Game

We were so close! And it might have been the best hockey game I have ever been to. We got to see everything! Broken window, Penalty shot, fight, the puck landed a row in front of us, sharks put up 4 in the first period

. This was with no zoom

Riding Roxy without a bridle

This is an amazing video. Stacey Westfall, the rider of Roxy was on TV this afternoon. Her story and ability to train and ride horses without a bridle and saddle is incredible. Check it out.

Brain Exercises for the Weekend

Harriet Vines, Ph.D., an experienced author and retired college professor, sends us a few fun brain exercises to train our attention and working memory (the ability to keep information current for a short period while using this information). Given them a try! They are not as easy as they may sound...

1. Say the days of the week backwards, then in alphabetical order.

2. Say the months of the year in alphabetical order. Easy? well, why don't you try doing so backwards, in reverse alphabetical order.

3. Find the sum of your date of birth, mm/dd/yyyy. Want more exercise? Do the same with friends' and relatives' date of birth.

4. Name two objects for every letter in your complete name. Work up to five objects, trying to use different items each time.

5. Wherever you are, look around and within two minutes, try to find 5 red things that will fit in your pocket, and 5 blue objects that are too big to fit.

snow weekend

We went to Tahoe March 1st for the weekend - when we use to be healthy.
Had a great time. There was so much snow. This first picture is out the condo where we were able to take the snow pile down two feet and build an actual igloo. The weather was beautiful - sunny blue sky's. We sledded for hours. The snow was perfect for building snowmen. This is a picture of Frank before his owner did a little too much fixing and he lost his head. The amazing part was that there was so few people up there to enjoy it. So glad that we did.

Weekend Adventures

This weekend had glorious weather so we took the opportunity to go to Lake Kaweah for a little hike with our friends Matt & Tj and even Lily dog got to go chase some ducks. We found out she loves the water but doesn't like to swim- even if her stick is floating away from her.

Check out Mint.com

I learned about this great website from Molly. She works at Google and was sent to "financial" boot camp. At this boot camp Molly learned about Mint.com. This website is awesome. Mint.com is a powerful tool to help organize the way you spend your money. You can set budgets, get text message reminders if you are spending too much, see how much you spend compared to people in your zip code, and a lot of other cool features.

Thought I would share a cool, safe, and free website to help organize the way we spend our money. Very easy to set up, no reason not to try it out.

Try Tri??? A trip to the Rose Bowl...

This morning Megan, Scott and I cheered on Steve as he ran (swam & biked) himself around the Rose Bowl. Karla got to spend her day taking her last set of Boards....Yea!!! Not only did he survive but finished in the middle of the pack...we won't mention the 70 year old that finished ahead of him. It was alot of fun and I am inspired....to keep taking pictures. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Sunrise

Jenn here is my sunrise photo. This was taken in Baja last year. For some reason I cannot get out of bed early Monday through Friday, but on vacation and the weekends, I'm up with the sun. I have a whole bunch of sunrise photos.

Happy Birthday Mike O'Dell

Sending out birthday wishes to Mike O'Dell who is a year wiser! Hope you have a great day.

3Day Walk

Good morning fellow walkers!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am walking the San Francisco 3day! I love the weather in San Diego but do not want to be walking 20 miles on my 30th birthday.

Hope you all will join me for great views, nice weather and a good walk up some hills :)

Anyone out there?

Just checking to see if anyone has been blogging and doesn't look like much action in the last few days...
So I am going to share some of my random thoughts and questions...

If asparagus can turn your pee green and stinky- what could make it smell nicer? Strawberries? Fruits? What are your thoughts?

Also- went riding this morning and was admiring the sunrise and would like to see your best sunrise photo- post it by end of next week so we can all enjoy since with the time change it will be way too early to get up for the sunrise :)

Don't forget to change your clocks!

50th Birthday Bash

Just a big thank you to Jessica, Jennifer, Jamie, Jamison and Thomas for a great birthday day of games. By 11:00 we were at the bowling alley knocking down some pins. Girls beat the guys in the first round. Guys made a come back the second (or did we let them?). Then home to Brainiac, dominoes, balderdash, etc.
How about a summer game day? Open to everyone....bocce, corn toss and other challenging games :) Start practicing.

Fantasy Football Trophy

Finally! The Fantasy Football trophy has been updated.
No Time to Choose and Space Age Polymars have been recognized and recorded for history.

Moo Cow again

Here is a still shot since I can't seem to get the video to work- anyone know why videos are so retarded!

Moo Cow update

Here is my little moo cow learning to jump - she is such a good girl! This is the second or third jump we took - the first cleared at least 3 feet higher than the jump :)

More of LA by Bike

More shots from the ride yesterday. LA like you never see it....By the way, my bib says it all...
Mike

O'Dell/Holmes do LA Marathon

Steve, Megan, Scott and I completed the LA Marathon....Bike Ride yesterday. This was great fun riding throught the streets of LA as the sun is coming up with no cars anywhere. The ride starts at 5:45 am so as to be completed long before the real marathoners come through. It really was a fun way to see a different part of LA....some parts you would not otherwise want to see....but what the heck with the 4 of us accompanied by about 20,000 others on bikes....

100 miles

My I-Pod and I have gone 100 miles. Yes, it did take me a year and a blistering pace of 10 min miles, but I did it. Maybe I will have a "In and Out" burger for lunch today.
