Honey Pale Ale
Tom and Thomas bottled the Honey Pale Ale that had been brewing in the kitchen. Two weeks and we get to find out if they succeeded in capturing the essence of Honey. Bear and Jamie just watched. They did not appreciate Bear's help.
Camping RIO HURTADO

<
We went camping the last weekend of our summer. The kids are in school now as of today. Wanting to share some pictures and our experience 4 hours into the Andes, camping very much ALONE as Mike likes it. Kelsey caught the first rainbow trout a few hours into our first morning, gave us all hope for the weekend. We finally did all catch and release, and catch... and eat. The fish were ¨running¨, always helps make a fishing trip a good one, eh. And it was great to have our teenagers all to ourselves, and the little ones of course loving family time and marshmallows and all the scary stuff around a campfire...bear and puma stories, Mike is always good at bringing up scary stories when around flames. And he told us how John and he would stay up WAY after everyone else turned in and make animals out of the coals as the fire died. And told us, not for the first time by any means about his Mom, her love of hiking and girls scouts and divying up the pouched food by each hiker´s weight, hiking and camping for weeks, fishing and sleeping under the stars in Coffee Creek. Shared with us about his Dad, not being such the hiker, (If you wanted a pack mule you should have married one, etc.) Much more a beach house club house guy. (Is that Uncle Tom? I believe?) John the Eagle Scout. Linda the Girl Scout by her mama´s side.
We did have a dead car battery ordeal that we made good within 3 hours thank god...car packed, I turned the engine to warm her up, tick tick tick, tick tick tick. OMG! After Mike walked a few hours looking for a car, a truck, anything, one finally passed. We really thought we were stranded for another night and well, we were done camping. Ya know, when you are done with the camp thing, you are done. Anywhooooo, we were saved by two great goat farmers, heading into the Andes for goat´s cheese. They had a wonderful little car battery they immediately pulled from their wonderful little car and hiked down the road to our diesel automatic biggish jeep. It worked! And we love them for life, I gave them our last two ¨boxes¨of camp wine, they were all smiles. We were too. I think Cadi and Josie were in prayer position at that moment of truth. Please God, Please God. Well, campers not quite like their father, but we always do love to give it a try! Okay, lots of love and smiles to you all...boo hoo, our summer´s over.
