Real Food Festival

This Sunday we did something outside our box. Tom and I went to the Real Food Festival in Jack London Square in Oakland. Lots of good food. What we know as "Roach Coaches" served real, sustainable, organic food. Jamie, Shawn, Thomas and a bunch of Jamie's girls went the day before and had a great time.
One thing they forgot was to mention how many people were there!! Tom likes festival as much as the rest of us but he does not like getting bumped against by strangers - look at the pictures!! Tom handled it well. We tried scotch eggs, fish tacos (my favorites), lobster rolls and clam chowder. We were even called out by Rick & Nicks sausages - a group traveling from Alabama. When they saw Tom's shirt they thought they had found friends! They did...and we got sausages and pimento cheese. We finished the day with Strauss Farms ice cream cones and checked it off our bucket list :)

We made a point of spending a little time with Jenn and Jamo and their babies! Unfortunately these babies make Jamo wheeze a bit.

Summer Days

We had a great time with Tammy, Vernon & Katelyn last week. Beach days, shopping and a harbor cruise. Only 12 more days until the kids go back to school....we are going to enjoy every last minute!

Wyatt Settling in at Home

 
Wyatt is home and doing well. Besides extreme exhaustion Jessica and Creed have really taken well to parenting. Wyatt had a doctors appointment yesterday and passed with flying colors. Gaining weight and good color. Jessica is moving well. She even had a game of toss with Freddy last night.

Born around 8pm last night, weighing in at 6lbs 14 oz and 20" long... Isn't he cute!

It's Time!!!

Jessica's water broke this morning! She is comfortable and not having very strong contractions... yet! Can't wait to meet the little guy or girl!

BABY SQUARES NUMBERS ARE DRAWN!

Here they are, print it out, highlight it, hang it on the wall, and see what happens (I may have a few weights in my pocket at scale tipping time :) ).  As always we hope for a healthly and happy baby, but we might as well have a little fun along the way.  Due date is the 20th, doc appt this Friday so we'll know more then.  Thanks for participating and GOOD LUCK!

Busy Day in Clovis

Sitting here in the house and hearing a helicopter or a fire engine go by is not unusual especially in dry summer months but when I heard the 3rd engine go by I thought I would look out the front window to see which direction they were heading. To my surprise, the fire was right across the road from us! Not too close but close enough to have a small bag packed just in case! Thankfully we are just doors down from the CDF station but we had front row seats to watch as at least 6 engines go by our house, 2 helicopters dropping water and we saw at least 4 planes dropping fire retardant. I must say the retardant looks way cooler being dropped in person than it does on TV. Those planes get really super close to the ground before dropping. It looks like the fire is almost out even after about an hour of burning. We are hoping that no one was injured but we have heard that it might have been a structure involved in the intial fire. None the less our house has never had so many planes and helicopters fly over it but thankfully they were all over it and got the blaze under control quickly! Just another Friday before heading off to birthing class!
