Camp Edison 2010

We are back from another successful Schneider/Smith/Whiting/Young Camping trip. It was another awesome weekend in the great outdoors. It started out a little Griswaldesc for some that lost a Lands End bag on 99 but once the CHP recovered it they traveled on with no other mishaps.
I laugh as I look at some the pictures because first off you really can't tell if we are around the campfire in the morning or in the evening. We all look a little wiped out and generally like we have been camping for weeks! There was so much food I am sure most of us had just read about the Donner party.
We had a full day Saturday. Tim came at 8:00 AM and took the boys fishing. The rest of us wandered down to the beach and set up camp there. Corn toss became the event of the day. We had a winner brackets and a "feel better about ourselves" brackets. Creed took it all even beating out the winner of the "feel better about ourselves" bracket - Keaton would have to explain his title cause I don't think I got it right.
The lake was full and very brisk this year...think melted snow. Lilly and Freddy were added entertainment. Lilly made sure we all had enough fur and Freddy offered free showers at the lake.
Bike riding (Tam's endurance ride - good job Kate & Steven), wiffle ball, cribbage and ghost stories (you are that parent Rhonda :)- I loved that line ) rounded out the evening.
One of my favorite memories will be seeing my Grandbump jump & wiggle in the sun!
To all that couldn't make it you were truly missed. Next year we are thinking we would like to try Big Sur!
Enjoy the home movies.

Shaver Lake 2010

We had a wonderful time camping in the woods with the Schneider's, Smith's, Young's & one Whitting. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the time together, priceless. Lazy days on the lake, intense WCTA (world corn toss assoc.) competition (Congrats to Creed 2010 winner) and lots of laughs around the fire. We couldn't ask for a better weekend. We look forward to Big Sir 2011!

Have fun this weekend Schneider/Smith Clan

When the reminder popped up on my calendar this morning about the camping trip I have to admit I was a bit over run with jealousy.... Have a great time and as Linda is so fond of reminding the kids: "Be wild, Be crazy, Be safe!!" We will be thinking of you and hope to be there next year. Post pictures!!

Our Field Trip

Tom and I took what sounds like a field trip back east. Okay so it was a while ago and I never got the pictures up I am trying now. I had wanted to go to Williamsburg, Virginia and Tom took me! We went to Williamsburg which is a living history village. We spent 3 days here and then moved on to Jamestown (for those knowing our history it should of been done in reverse). After spending time in history we went to Virginia Beach....interesting. Crazy compared to California beach towns. We also visited the capes of Virginia (think Misty of Chincoteague). All in all a really fun trip. Now on to the home movies!

To all that think Tom takes a vacation - notice him on his life line to BAIF!

Tom & Molly Super Date ver 2.0

So Molly and I went on a super date.
A super date is much like a normal date but it packs the punch of 3 or 4 dates into 1 date. (in this case 5 dates).

This particular super date included the following
  • Cow Girl Creamery (lunch and snack)
  • Point Reyes Beach (a little windy but o so beautiful)
  • Lagunitas Brewery (a little hoppy and o so delicious)
  • Keller Estate Winery (most under rated/unknown vineyard in Napa - we were there by ourselves)
  • Olive Oilery (nom nom nom)

Highlights
Pictures

I'll share the adventure of our first super date at a later time.

Phew- we escaped!

It was a glorious day in the city and we took full advantage of the gardens and sites of Alcatraz- a few scares where we thought we would never escape but thankfully we all made it home...

Memorial Day

So what did everyone do for the long weekend? We went on a little hike/walk up near Shaver Lake. Baby Beans first hike of the season! Here is a photo from the day but we have more on the other blog!
Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend honoring those that have fought for our country!
