We
did a little family camping this weekend at Camp Edison at Shaver Lake.
Originally the whole Smith clan was going to go but it slowly fizzled
so we decided we would go by ourselves. It was so much fun and we
couldn't have gotten better weather or a nicer (quiet) little campsite!
When
we got there we were so proud because we thought we actually remembered
everything but alas we forgot just a few key items, like charcoal to
BBQ with and paper to start fires with. Small hurdles but we McGuyver'd
it and made it work :)
We
had neighbors the first night but then it was just us on our side of a
little loop. The boys did great, Wyatt said he loves camping (and being
dirty). He thinks we should do it again tomorrow.
Freddie
was also excited to finally come on one of our little vacations this
summer. He is definitely a water dog. The second we took off his leash
he bee-lined it to the water and did a few hot laps up and down the
shore. He and Wyatt are going to be best buds! A perfect stick throwing
partnership. Wyatt thought it was hysterical when Creed "raced" Freddie
to the stick too. Sadly because of night terrors we didn't let Wyatt
partake in the S'mores action but hopefully next time he can join in! We
didn't let that stop us though ha ha. Cody had a good time too,
although looking at the photos it's a little hard to tell since he was
sleeping in a lot of them!
We can't wait to do it again!
Next year everyone needs to be ready for a big camp out - Russian River here we come!!! Details will be coming out shortly.
