The world has one less appendix because Tom has one less appendix!
Tom had a bad reaction to some antibiotics that he was taking for a sinus infection. Terrible stomach cramps, etc. The pain moves to the lower right side of his abdomen. Sunday night he is sore but not bad. We go to bed thinking he might have to call the Doc in the morning. 12:30 I am abruptly awoken and we hustle him out the door to the hospital. After a cat scan shows an inflamed appendix Tom is wheeled into surgery at 5:00 AM. By 6:30 he was in recovery and his appendix was in the trash!
Tom was put in a hospital room with 2 other men - one older hard of hearing gentleman with guest yelling at him and one snorer that actually rattled the walls. Tom in delirium threatens to sleep in the linen closet or the hall....in colorful wording. After 3 hours of Grammy Schneider and an angry drugged Tom hounding the poor nursing staff of John Muir (all very kind women) they found a single room for him. Tom was hugging nurses.
To leave a hospital you must be able to eat, walk and urinate....two out of three is not good enough. After 13 hours Tom experienced his first catheter. He doesn't like them. Catheter #2 happened Tuesday morning! He still doesn't like them...wishing he was a girl!!
It is Tuesday night and Tom is safely home. Showered and fed he sees the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you to all for your warm wishes and concern.

Wow! Very eventful 24 hours! Happy to hear Tom is doing well and out of the hospital.
Glad he is doing better. I can sympathize on the noisy hospital rooms! Hope the recovery goes well, can't wait to see you guys soon!
I assumed he was doing better when I noticed trades were made in the Fantasy league..... Has he started putting through the house yet??

Glad to hear everything is okay. No thanks to the catheter. Made me squirm reading.
